AOC Cote du Jura, Vin de Paille 2009 - Chateau D'Arlay

Grapes for Vin de Paille are picked early and then dried naturally by air, usually in an attic, either in small boxes or suspended from the rafters. Once the requisite sugar concentration has been reached, the grapes are pressed. The wine must be oak-aged for a minimum of three years. It is rich and intense with honeyed flavors and delicious candied exotic fruits; excellent balancing acidity preventing it being overly heavy in alcohol and sweetness.
