AOC Vacqueyras - Domaine de L'Espigouette
Dark red colour, deep with purple reflections. The nose is wide open, with scents of garrigue (bay leaf, rosemary) and fresh thyme. An explosion of black fruits upon aeration (blackberry, candied cherry). Nice balance between power and gluttony. Typical of the great successes of the Rhône Valley in this vintage. A light woody note that perfects the complexity.
The palate is powerful, voluminous. The sweetness, from the start, gives a lot of fullness and voluptuousness. It has a beautiful tannic structure but the tannins are well coated, they give relief. The balance between potency and freshness is perfect. Enjoy in 3 to 5 years on a leg of lamb with crunchy vegetables or a nice piece of beef.
